About Wellmama

We are a not-for-profit organisation offering doula services, antenatal workshops, birth support, support programmes around parenthood to families in the Midlands/Midwest region.

Through public and private funding, some of our services are free to birthing people and their families. Our vision is to create inclusive, supportive communities for all, co-creating the village that it takes to raise a child.

“In the Wellmama workshops, I have found my tribe. They are amazing facilitators, and I am so glad I joined their programme.”

    Treasa, first time mum, Dublin

    Where Do We Work?

We offer our group workshops and services across Ireland, online and in-person.

For one-on-one doula support, we serve women in Co. Limerick, Co. Tipperary and parts of Co. Clare, Co. Offaly and Co. Laois. We support women who give birth in the University Maternity Hospital Limerick, the Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise, South Tipperary General Hospital Clonmel, Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, and Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar. We also support women who choose homebirth. To see if we cover your area, give us a call.

“Just knowing my doula was in the room with me at the hospital made me feel safer and happier and free to let go and give birth. I will never forget her kindness, care and support. Every woman should have a doula for her birth!”

    Michelle, fourth time Mum, Tipperary

We value the relationships between doulas, midwives and obstetricians, and work to create and maintain mutually respectful relationships which honour our differences as well as our similarities as attendants in the birth space.

“I lost a pregnancy due to hospital negligence. I believe I wasn’t listened to when I enclosed about my previous birth complication. I then got pregnant again and contacted doula Su immediately after finding out that I was pregnant. I don’t know how was I going to do all that without a doula to support me, help me all the way from 4 weeks till i gave birth. My relationship with my doula was so amazing. I’m recommending the Wellmama doulas to everyone because you never know how much you need a doula until she’s there.”
