Birth Stories

Birth can be beautiful, empowering, transformative.

Every birth is unique.

On this page, we share positive birth experiences to help you visualise what is possible if you feel safe, calm and supported while birthing your baby. Some of these stories feature doulas, others don’t. Some are hospital births, some are home births. Each birth experience is different. We would like to share many more of these stories, so if you would like to share your birth story to inspire other women, contact us at doulas@wellmama.ie

What if your birth was not a positive experience, but you would like to talk about it anyways?

The stories that we share here are meant to inspire women and remind us of our innate capacity to birth our babies. We acknowledge that many of us have had experiences that did not feel positive, or that left us feeling traumatised. Healing the wounds of previous birth experiences is at the core of our work. We offer birth debriefs and trauma-informed aftercare – please get in touch with any of our doulas if you would like to book a session to talk about your birth as a way of healing.
